Sadly, if you are like millions of people today, you may have an enemy that is keeping you from
being all that you could be. That enemy is anxiety--unreasonable, irrational and unnecessary
anxiety. Anxiety has different names such as fear, worry, and panic; but they are all basically the
same thing. In over 25 years of practice as a psychologist, I have seen fear in many forms:
worry, panic attacks, phobia, social anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

In this book, I distill the essential features of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and present them in
a systematic manner, which you can use to attack your own anxiety problems. Many of these
concepts can be used without the need for professional therapy. However, if you are currently
seeing a therapist who uses CBT, this book can be a helpful companion to your treatment.

So many people resign themselves to living in fear and see no hope for anything better. That is
such a waste. My prayer is that this little book gives you some encouragement to take on your
anxiety problems and overcome them. I truly believe that no one has to be overly burdened by
anxiety. Many people have conquered their anxiety. You can too!
